Role

The Runner is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests, supporting smooth service flow within the restaurant. The role plays a key part in maintaining speed, efficiency, and guest satisfaction by assisting the service team and ensuring orders are delivered correctly, professionally, and in line with the restaurant’s standards.

Reporting to: Head Waiter / Floor Manager

Key Responsibilities

Food & Beverage Delivery

• Collect food and beverages from the kitchen and bar and deliver them promptly to the correct tables.
• Ensure all items are served accurately, neatly presented, and at the correct temperature.
• Verify order details before delivery to avoid mistakes or delays.
• Assist in prioritizing delivery of urgent or time-sensitive orders.
• Support smooth and continuous service flow during busy periods.

Guest Service Support

• Assist Waiters and Assistant Waiters in ensuring guests receive timely and attentive service.
• Ensure guest tables are set correctly and support in maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
• Respond politely to guest requests when approached and direct service queries to the relevant waiter.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and attentive presence on the floor at all times.

Restaurant Operations

• Support in setting up the restaurant before service, including mise en place, table setup, and station readiness.
• Clear and reset tables efficiently during and after service as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, pass areas, and dining floor.
• Assist in closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and organizing service areas.

Kitchen & Service Coordination

• Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order pickup and delivery.
• Communicate effectively regarding order readiness, delays, or special instructions.
• Assist in maintaining smooth coordination between kitchen, bar, and service team.
• Ensure proper handling of food tickets and order slips if applicable.

Team Collaboration

• Support waiters, assistant waiters, and head waiters during peak service periods.
• Assist in maintaining teamwork and efficient service flow across all sections.
• Follow instructions from supervisors promptly and professionally.
• Participate in daily briefings and service preparation meetings.

Compliance & Hygiene

• Follow all food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety procedures.
• Ensure safe handling of food, beverages, crockery, and glassware at all times.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
• Report any spills, hazards, or equipment issues immediately to supervisors.

Self-Learning & Development

• Attend training sessions as required and continuously improve service knowledge.
• Learn restaurant menu items, ingredients, and basic beverage knowledge.
• Demonstrate willingness to grow within the Food & Beverage service team.
• Accept feedback positively and apply improvements in daily work.

Pre-requisites

• Previous experience in Food & Beverage service is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic understanding of restaurant operations is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good physical stamina and ability to move quickly and efficiently.
• Basic communication skills in English.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.

        Salary range: AED 1800-2400 (Based on experience)
