Job Description
  • Be familiar with general industry standards of preparation and service of both food and beverages
  • Provide a professional level of service in the preparation of food and beverage items, always in adherence to the strict recipes and quality guidelines of the Company and without compromising the quality or presentation of food
  • Have a detailed knowledge of all menu items, together with the ability to discuss the menu, ingredients, and daily or periodical promotions with customers
  • Crosstrain for F&B service positions including table service (dine-in) & call centre in the capacity of server /waiter/tress, whenever possible and following the correct procedures
  • Always have a kind, pleasant and helpful attitude and nature, exceed expectations of your team, superiors and guests and always smile
  • Train in the use of the POS for delivery and dine-in orders, and assist in operation of the POS as requested by direct superiors
  • Ensure kitchen and all preparation areas are clean and clear at all times
  • Always carry kitchen equipment, utensils, plates, glasses and cutlery in a professional, safe way and in accordance with the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and in line with accepted industry safety standards
  • Always ensure that your work is executed according to standard operating procedures and employee handbook
  • Create and maintain a sound working relationship with all personnel
  • Report to your direct supervisor prior to leaving your station for break or at the end of the shift
  • Be responsible for knowing your shift timings and arriving to work on time
  • Supervise and assist in the preparation and execution of menu items, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
  • Monitor food preparation and production across all kitchen stations.
  • Maintain high food standards in taste, portion, and appearance in line with company recipes and expectations.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef in designing and updating menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings.
  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to standards.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and compliant with all ADFCA food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor kitchen inventory and coordinate with procurement for ordering supplies and ingredients.
  • Maintain strict control over food waste and optimize kitchen productivity to manage food costs.
  • Lead and supervise kitchen staff including line cooks, commis, and prep teams.
  • Conduct training for junior team members on recipes, hygiene practices, and equipment use.
  • Ensure discipline, professional conduct, and clear communication in the kitchen at all times.
  • Step in for the Head Chef when required and assist in performance evaluations of kitchen team members.
  • Enforce compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.
  • Ensure all kitchen staff maintain personal cleanliness and use PPE when required.
