We are looking for either an individual Sous Chef or a couple one Sous Chef and one front of house.Are you passionate about good food, local ingredients, and working in a beautiful countryside setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented Sous Chef to join our team at a highly regarded gastro pub located in the picturesque Exeter countryside. We also have a front-of-house role available for the right couple.Our gastro pub prides itself on offering high-quality, locally sourced fresh food to our valued customers. We have built a strong reputation for our delectable menu and warm, welcoming atmosphere with soring fire inside. Our team is led by an experienced Head Chef who is eager to share their knowledge and mentor aspiring culinary professionals.As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our kitchen. You will work closely with the Head Chef to create innovative and delicious dishes, utilizing the best locally sourced ingredients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with menu planning, supervising the kitchen staff, maintaining high food quality standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.Benefits:£30,000 Per Annum for Sous Chef Role£11 - £11.50 Per Hour For the front-of-house positionLive-in accommodation is provided for the couple.TipsOpportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of an experienced Head Chef.Beautiful countryside location, offering a peaceful and scenic work environment.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning, including creating new dishes and optimizing existing recipes.Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.Oversee and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.Assist with stock management, ordering supplies, and monitoring food costs.Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.Uphold health and safety standards at all times.Requirements:Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a similar establishment.A genuine passion for food, creativity, and a desire to deliver exceptional dining experiences.Strong culinary skills and a good understanding of various cooking techniques.Knowledge of local ingredients and seasonal produce.Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Food hygiene and safety certification.If you are an ambitious and dedicated Sous Chef / waiter/ess looking for a rewarding opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and be part of a dynamic team, we would love to hear from you.
