Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead the beverage operations at Reif Japanese Kushiyaki. The Bar Manager will oversee day-to-day bar activities, develop a well-curated beverage menu (sake, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic options), manage inventory and suppliers, supervise the bar team, ensure compliance with UAE regulations, and drive beverage profitability while delivering exceptional hospitality.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily bar operations, including opening/closing procedures, station readiness, and shift briefings.

  • Develop, update, and price beverage menus: seasonal cocktails, sake lists, wines, beers, and specialty drinks.

  • Manage purchasing, receiving, par levels, and stock control; conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile variances.

  • Monitor and control beverage cost and implement recipe/portion control standards.

  • Lead, train, schedule, and mentor bar staff; conduct regular training sessions on beverage knowledge, service standards, and upselling.

  • Ensure high service quality, consistent drink presentation, and professional handling of guest feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with UAE licensing rules, food safety, and responsible service guidelines.

  • Support marketing initiatives such as beverage promotions, pairing events, and seasonal activations to increase sales.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on beverage sales, cost control, and inventory.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bar management experience in a high-volume, stand-alone restaurant or similar F&B environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Japanese beverages (sake), wines, spirits, cocktails, and modern beverage trends.

  • Proven experience with inventory management, supplier coordination, and cost control.

  • Strong leadership, training, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with POS and inventory systems.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and peak service hours.
