The Waiter is responsible to take orders and serve food and beverages to guests in the restaurant and in charge for bill payments. Always aware of guest satisfaction to deliver the perfect service experience. Ensure high quality of food and beverages to guests. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: servicing the guest in a friendly, efficient manner while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. guests must feel welcome, comfortable and well attended to at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
§ Adhere to and support the Quality Standards.
§ Follows company guidelines regarding grooming, uniforms and personal hygiene
§ Report to property on time and in proper uniform
§ Provide the perfect service experience for every guest
§ Ensure the guest feels important and welcome in the restaurant
§ Follows through the standard sequence of service as per outlet SOP
§ Adhere to timing standards for products and services by following through as per sequence of service SOP
§ Look for ways to consolidate service and increase table turns
§ Present menu, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverage (wine recommendation, when applicable).
§ Must have excellent knowledge of food and beverage offered
§ Apply positive suggestive sales approach to guide guest’s expectations and increase revenue (upselling)
§ Table setting, maintain table cleanliness and clearing tables
§ Collect payments or room charges from guests
§ Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe
§ Provide responsible service of alcoholic beverages
§ Deliver food and beverages to any table as needed
§ Must follow all cash handling policies and procedures
§ Be updated with food and beverages knowledge required to carry out duties
§ Receives and stores food and beverage items adhering to all food hygiene regulations and procedures
§ Consistently monitors quality of food and beverage being served and report to the supervisor or assistant outlet manager
§ Any other duties as assigned from time to time
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
§ Previous experience in a similar job role (restaurant waiter or above). Proven track record
§ Worked in in similar position for at least 1 years on the same venue/brand, needs to have experience in A La Carte restaurants, also high-volume restaurants over 200 guests per venue (if applicable).
§ International experience (if applicable)
§ Extensive food and beverage knowledge
§ Outgoing, confident, team player with good communication skills, who is flexible and works well under pressure.
§ Analytical thinker, dynamic, energetic, creative individual with a positive “can do” attitude.
§ Self-motivated, committed, and passionate about Food and Beverage with a High sense of responsibility
§ Multi-tasking capability without compromising on quality.
§ Punctual and able to work flexible working hours.
§ Confident to deal with peers and senior colleagues, has the ability to empower others to make decisions
§ Excellent communication skills and good written business English
