Description
SF Recruitment have an exciting opportunity recruiting for a Shop Floor Manager for their client based in Swadlincote. As the Manager you will be responsible for full management and leadership for assigned production areas. This is a full-time permanent role working Monday-Friday finishing at 12 on Fridays. As the Manager you will be required to provide leadership in the implementation and achievement of the Company's business plan working to agreed objectives. You will be required to develop action plans and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve the benefits of identified opportunities. Main Duties - Manage the activities of production teams to manage the production floor and coordinate the effective and efficient planning & placement of manpower. - Maintain productive, informative and functional relationships with the production employees throughout all service departments to ensure necessary support, targeting continued employee engagement. - Manage on-going efforts in manufacturing excellence initiatives including corporately driven programs which required regular reporting, targeting continued ME savings opportunities. - Work with Supply chain to assure raw materials on order and/or avail to LOB. - Own and represent entire stream of allocated manufacturing modules and departments. - Support the QMS and AS9100/ISO 14001 requirements for assigned production area. - Communicate commitments to customers/Assure timely response on all OTDmisses/escalating and/or CAR'S (Customers or internal). - Resolve all issues preventing appropriate flow of assigned products works in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, Design, Sales, Finance etc... - Hire train, upgrade and manage assigned department personnel activities in collaboration with HR. Responsible for expense management and OT budgets for assigned units. - Support 5s initiatives and all Lean/ CI projects: Lead minimum of 3 Six sigma/ Lean events in year Essential - Preferable BS Mechanical Engineering or Business related degree or equivalent - 5 + years of progressive manufacturing experience with at least 2+ years in supervisory or management role - Strong background in Lean/Six Sigma preferred. - General computer proficiency. The client is looking for someone with strong leadership skills along with the ability to confidently demonstrate a hands on management style. Ideal candidates will need excellent communication skills with basic financial acumen.
